| want some cover seeds for your garden? |
[Sep. 25th, 2009|10:45 am] |
We get a farm share with Brookfield Farms. In last weeks newsletter , they talked about putting down a cover crop to winterize the farm, and I thought that sounded like something interesting to try for my humble backyard garden. So, I wrote to Farmer Dan and asked if they sell their seed mix.
In response, he sent me enough seed to cover 4500 sq ft - for free! Which is awesome, but is also at least 20x what I can actually use. Thus, I'm looking to share it with anyone who want some. You'll have to come to our place in Arlington to get it, or make other arrangements, but I'm not going to mail it out or anything like that.
Please, take my seeds!
In other news, apparently, it's been over a year since I last posted. hrm.

Title: Meredith Brooks - Bitch lyrics Artist: Meredith Brooks
I hate the world today You're so good to me I know but I can't change tried to tell you but you look at me like maybe I'm an angel underneath innocent and sweet Yesterday I cried You must have been relieved to see the softer side I can understand how you'd be so confused I don't envy you I'm a little bit of everything all rolled into one
Chorus: I'm a bitch, I'm a lover I'm a child, I'm a mother I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I do not feel ashamed I'm your health, I'm your dream I'm nothing in between You know you wouldn't want it any other way
So take me as I am This may mean you'll have to be a stronger man Rest assured that when I start to make you nervous and I'm going to extremes tomorrow I will change and today won't mean a thing
Chorus
Just when you think you've got me figured out the season's already changing I think it's cool you do what you do and don't try to save me
Chorus
I'm a bitch, I'm a tease I'm a goddess on my knees when you hurt, when you suffer I'm your angel undercover I've been numbed, I'm revived can't say I'm not alive You know I wouldn't want it any other way |

Dataloading is really boring at work, so I'm reading XKCD while it runs.
- People thought I was weird at work when I started using Ben Bitdiddle and Alyssa P Hacker as examples.
- maybe I should approach my gym time like this |

I've started a new LJ for keeping track of my brewing and wine-making experiences: garlicwine. It's mostly there in the hopes that I'll actually manage to keep logs, which are so important in brewing and wine-making, but maybe some of my brew-oriented friends might find it interesting or have useful comments. If nothing else, you can use it to keep track of when my latest batch of homebrew will be ready to drink :-) |

| rye bread |
[Jun. 13th, 2007|11:08 am] |
Does anyone have a good recipe for proper Jewish rye bread? Doing some reading up on it, it seems that I need a starter; does anyone have some they'd be willing to share, or have good directions on how I can get some started on my own? I had this dream of making rye bread while I visit my parents in NJ this weekend, but the need for the starter may make this impossible. Still, once I get it going, I can always use it to make bread at home (in my Copious Free Time). There are few things better in the world that a nice, soft slice of good rye bread .... |

Last.fm is one of my favorite sources of internet radio. Now that have widgets that let me spam the whole world (or my lj friends) with info about what I'm listening to:

Watch images uploaded to Flickr in real time on a map of the world. "a never-ending slideshow of humanity", deep and moving in its own way. I'm entranced by it. |
